Meet Mimi Wilson, lover of layered spaces, bold fabrics, and a good design surprise.
Mimi Wilson is the founder and principal designer of T. Ke Studio, a Northern Virginia–based interior design firm known for its modern sensibility, classical undercurrents, and quietly elegant spaces. Her work blends clean lines with refined detail, creating homes that feel both contemporary and deeply lived in. Each project is rooted in her belief that beauty and functionality should move in tandem — spaces should work gracefully, and they should feel like the people who inhabit them.
A lifelong creative, Mimi comes from a family of artists, architects, set designers, and musicians. That early immersion in the arts shaped her instinctive understanding of composition, texture, and storytelling. She was rearranging furniture by the age of nine and studying Architectural Digest long before she could fully articulate why interiors thrilled her — a self-taught beginning that evolved into a considered, sophisticated design voice.
Mimi draws inspiration from global and domestic architecture, travel, and the sculptural language of shapes and lines. Her work spans high-end residential projects throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., each one shaped by a deep respect for her clients’ personalities, histories, and how they live day to day.
At the heart of T. Ke Studio is a simple idea: great design is human. It listens, adapts, and elevates — turning rooms into stories and houses into homes.
Personal Favorites
A lifelong design enthusiast since childhood–and never stopped seeing the magic in it.
A few things I’m always drawn to in a space:
- The unexpected. I love incorporating one bold, surprising piece that doesn’t “belong” on paper–but blends in beautifully in real life. A modern art piece in a traditional room? I’m all for it!
- Striking Fabric. I believe beautiful textiles can completely transform a space. Whether it’s dramatic draperies or perfectly patterned pillows, you’ll always find a fabric moment in my designs.
- Layered storytelling. The most compelling rooms feel collected, not staged. I gravitate toward interiors that tell a story–through texture, scale, and those little personal details that reveal something about the people who live there.

Known for her kind heart, sharp coordination skills, and the steady support she brings to every project and person, Liz is the calm, capable presence behind the scenes at T. Ke Studio.
As our office manager, she keeps everything running smoothly–coordinating schedules, managing communication, and making sure every client feels informed, supported, and taken care of throughout the entire design process.
With a sharp eye for detail and a gift for clear, thoughtful communication, Liz is the one who ensures no small thing slips through the cracks. Her warmth, kindness, and steady professionalism make her a favorite with our clients–and an essential part of our team.
When she’s not keeping us on track, Liz is a dedicated mom, a loyal board game rival, and the proud human of very spoiled felines. Her thoughtful nature shines through in everything she does–whether she’s coordinating timelines or hosting family game night.
